Ch. 4: This, You Take!
The next morning…-
I was awoken by the chirping of a songbird.
(I can hear voices from outside…)
I could hear children laughing, and Randa’s laugh joined in.
Getting myself up, I went outside.
Randa: “OO, you awake.”
Spotting me, Randa ran over.
The light of morning tinged the outline of his strong body.
Randa: “This! For you! Take!”
Saying as much, Randa handed me a coronet of white flowers.
The small, white flower petals swayed in his hands.
OO: “They’re so cute…thank you!”
I carefully took the flower coronet from his hands.
Following, Randa smiled in delight.
Randa: “Took! It decided!”
OO: “Eh?”
Randa: “You, my bride!”
(…!?)
He wrapped his long arms around my back, pulling me in close, then gave me a sparkling smile.
Ch. 5: Symbol of Wife!
Randa: “You, my bride!”
Randa held me tightly with his powerful arms.
My heart started pounding loudly.
OO: “U-um…Randa?”
Randa: “What taking flower mean!”
OO: “What it means?”
Randa: “Symbol of proposal!”
OO: “Eh!?”
Randa: “You take it!”
(I-it had that kind of meaning…)
Confused, I looked down at the white flowers I had taken.
At that time…-
OO: “…!”
Randa moved his face in close and our noses touched.
Randa: “No?”
OO: “That’s…we’ve only just met and all.”
Randa: “OO!”
His serious eyes pierced right through me.
My heart started pounding even louder.
OO: “Randa…”
Randa moved his face even closer and I reflexively drew back.
OO: “W-wait!”
Randa: “What?”
OO: “C-can you give me a little time?”
Randa: “Time?”
OO: “We still don’t know each other that well. I’d like you to know more about me. How about we spend more time together, a-and then we can think about marriage?”
Randa: “…”
Randa stared at me.
Then…-
Randa: “OK!!”
He responded with a smile as bright as the sun.
OO: “Thank you.”
Randa: “You know me! After, you be wife!”
(…I wonder if he actually gets it.)
Randa: “It promise!”
I felt a brief moment of relief when…-
Suddenly, Randa’s face came in closer and I felt something soft on my forehead.
OO: “…!”
(That was…)
In a panic, I checked my forehead.
The sensation still lingered.
(A kiss…?)
Randa: “Symbol of wife!”
Randa grinned and once again moved in close.
OO: “…!”
He grabbed my hand as I moved it to cover my forehead.
Then, after he moved my hand away, he kissed my forehead again.
Randa: “Symbol!”
His smile was like the sun.
As that smile shone on me, I felt my heart leap as my chest heated up.
