Ch. 1: A Voice Fading Into Silence
Kingdom of Vox in the Country of Voice, Month of Color…-
When the trees were dyed a pale pink…
The boy who had just awoken slowly looked up at me through his long eyelashes.
(He has beautiful eyes…)
His pale-colored eyes were tinged with the light of the setting sun.
??: “You…one…me…”
OO: “Huh?”
He was murmuring something, but the silence of the forest swallowed it up before it reached my ears.
(What is he saying?)
OO: “Um…”
As if reading my expression, he spoke again.
??: “You were the one who woke me up.”
He came closer, and I nodded after I could finally hear him.
Flu: “Thank you so much…I’m Flu. Would you like to come to my castle?”
His voice was faint as he spoke, and he smiled softly.
I listened carefully so as to not miss anything he said.
Ch. 2: Valuable Time
We finally arrived at Flu’s castle as the sky was turning a dark blue.
Flu: “Welcome…”
At that time…-
??: “Are you the one who saved Flu!? Thanks for that!”
A cheerful voice echoed down the hallway, drowning out Flu.
Younger Brother: “I’m Flu’s younger brother! Well, make yourself at home!”
OO: “Th-thanks. I will.”
He ran towards us and firmly grasped my hand.
Younger Brother: “I can’t let this chance go to waste now that we’ve got a visitor! I plan on us spending a lot of time together!”
OO: “U-um…”
Younger Brother: “See ya!”
He let go of my hand and ran off, full of energy.
OO: “He’s gone…”
Flu: “I apologize for him doing that…”
OO: “He was lively, and fun.”
Flu: “You…think so…”
OO: “I was just kind of surprised.”
Flu: “Me too…”
Flu: “…his voice is so loud. When I’m with him, my voice…it’s always drowned out.”
(Yeah…he was pretty boisterous.)
OO: “But you seem to get along well.”
I smiled at him, and Flu turned his face away as if confused.
Flu: “I’ll…around…this way.”
OO: “Huh?”
He had turned away and only half-spoke to me.
Once again, his voice was carried off before it reached my ears.
(H-he’s so quiet…is he going to show me around like this?)
As he slowly walked away, I panicked and moved to walk next to him.
The light of the moon shone with a gentle beauty on Flu’s veil.
Ch. 3: Ridiculously Cheerful Song
Flu: “You can use this room.”
At Flu’s guidance, I entered the room that had been prepared for me.
OO: “Thank you so much.”
Flu: “It was nothing…”
He shyly shook his head, then looked at me.
Flu: “I didn’t get the chance to say this before…but…”
At that time…
Older Brother: “You saved my little brother right? Thanks!”
OO: “Ah…”
Flu’s voice was again drowned out, this time by a different brother’s voice.
Flu: “Brother…”
Older Brother: “I’m really glad to see Flu safe! I have to thank you for rescuing my little brother! You can stay here as long as you like!”
Flu’s older brother left, waving to us as he walked down the hall.
Flu: “…”
OO: “…”
Interrupted again, Flu turned his head away in embarrassment.
OO: “…Flu, what were you saying just now?”
Flu: “Um…”
I watched as Flu started to speak.
Then…-
Flu: “I’m sorry…”
OO: “Please, talk to me.”
Flu: “Thank you…very much…”
Flu: “I wanted to thank you again…”
Flu’s gaze wandered, and he turned away from me.
Flu: “Thanks to you…I was able to come back to the castle. I can’t thank you enough.”
OO: “Oh, it was nothing…”
Flu: “As thanks, I want you…and me…”
As he was talking, his voice gradually became quieter, so much so that I didn’t catch what he said at the end.
I peered into Flu’s eyes, his head downcast.
OO: “Flu?”
Flu: “U…um, I want…to do something…for you.”
OO: “I want to talk with you Flu.”
Flu: “Talk…”
OO: “Yes.”
OO: “Just knowing your feelings makes me happy.”
Flu: “My…feelings…
Flu: “Then…”
Completely different than before, his voice echoed strongly.
OO: “…!”
Raising his voice, Flu clasped my hands in his.
(Flu…?)
Flu: “…would you go out somewhere with me tomorrow?”
OO: “Flu…”
Flu: “There’s a place I want you to see.”
Flu’s voice resounded strongly in my heart.
