Name
- Juri – a play on words. Another name for shaved ice is 夏氷 (natsugoori) which sounds similar to the pronunciations for 7, 2, and 5. July 25th is Shaved Ice Day in Japan, and Juri’s name comes from the 7 in this play on words, or July.
- Shariat – from the English word ‘sherbet’ which originates with the Arabic word sharba, meaning ‘to drink.’
