Ch. 5: The Feeling of Missing Each Other
The day following my adventure into the city at night with Lid…-.
(Yesterday was fun…)
As I remembered the night before, I saw Lid walking down the hall.
OO: “Ah, Lid! Thanks for yesterday!”
I cheerfully called out to him but…
Lid: “Yeah…”
I got a curt reply in return, completely different from his usual cheerful tone.
OO: “What’s wrong? Are you sick…?”
Lid: “No…sorry, it’s almost time for me to start work.”
Saying so, Lid quickly walked away from me.
(Lid…?)
Callan: “Lady OO.”
I turned towards the sudden voice, and saw Callan standing there with a serious expression on his face.
OO: “Callan…good morning.”
Callan: “I have something…to talk to you about.”
OO: “Is something the matter…?”
Callan took in a deep breath, and he looked directly at me.
Callan: “Lady OO…would you go out with me?”
OO: “Eh…?”
I could do nothing but blink at his sudden words.
Ch. 6: The Most Important Thing
Callan: “Lady OO…would you go out with me? You don’t need to answer right away…well then, I’ll return to my work.”
(What do I do…?)
A sudden confession from Callan…
I was so shocked I couldn’t speak, and I stood rooted to the spot for a while.
(First things first, I’ll go back to my room…)
I turned on my heel, and there leaning against the wall with his arms folded was Lid.
OO: “Lid…”
Lid: “…it goes without saying, but I know my bro’ll treat you right.”
Hearing those words from Lid made my heart ache horribly.
OO: “Why are you saying that…? I…”
Lid: “…”
But Lid didn’t wait for me to speak and instead turned and started walking away.
OO: “Wait…!”
I reflexively took Lid’s hand.
Lid: “W-what’s wrong?”
(I…)
I felt like my heart was breaking.
But I couldn’t hide my feelings any longer.
OO: “I…can’t go out with Callan.”
Lid: “Eh…”
OO: “Because I …like being with you more Lid. I want to do so many more things with you.”
The words kept spilling out.
(I like Lid…)
I fervently tried to keep myself in check as I felt like I was about to cry.
Lid stared at me, his eyes wavering with uncertainty, but…
Lid: “…are you sure you’re ok with me?”
At last, he spoke quietly.
OO: “I…like you the best Lid.”
Lid: “The best…?”
Lid tightly squeezed my hand.
Lid: “Haha…if you say that, I can’t just hand you over to my bro.”
Suddenly, he pulled on my hand and brought my head into his chest.
(I can hear his heartbeat…)
Lid: “I have fun when I’m with you too. But I’m not very confident. It’s always been like that…I can never compare to my bro, or Tiga. I guess I always figured I could never do anything to be the best at anything, or be the best to anyone.”
Lid tightened his grip as he held me.
Lid: “But you said you’re ok with me. That makes me super happy!”
(Lid…)
He gently brushed up my bangs and kissed my forehead.
OO: “Lid…”
The heat of his touch on my head made my cheeks flush.
As we stood like that, Lid’s lips drew closer to mine…
OO: “Nn…”
His arms squeezed me tightly again as he kissed me gently, making sure his feelings came across.
(I…love Lid.)
At last, we slowly parted.
Lid: “Hehe…”
Lid’s face was red, and I thought his smile was in embarrassment when…
Lid: “Alright! This is a declaration of war against my bro!”
His sudden, cheerful voice echoed as it burst forth.
OO: “W…war…”
Lid: “I’m making you the most important thing to me!”
Those words made my heart shine with the brilliance of a precious gem.
OO: “…right!”
Lid pulled my hand, and my heart was full of that glittering feeling.
