- Foia – from the German word feuer, meaning ‘fire’.
- Salamande – from ‘salamander’, lizards long ago thought to be imbued with power over fire.
- Secundati – from the Hebrew term secundadi which refers to the Kabalistic belief in the 7 archangels who hold dominion over the world.
